Regularly I see commercials for miracle weight loss solutions. Some of these ads even declare their solution as ‘weird food that will make you burn fat fast’ or ‘easy trick for weight loss that doctors do not want you to know’. These commercials want you to believe that you can just continue to eat as much as you always do and miraculously lose weight as much as the mannequin in the picture did. And although there are substances that support weight loss, there is still no such thing as a miracle pill. These products however sell like hotcakes because we all like to believe that they work, right? We are all looking for the simple solution to our weight problem. Unfortunately, losing weight does not work that way. Everybody who wants to lose weight needs to limit their calorie intake. There is no escaping. Look at some advertizements a bit more careful and you will see that the small print actually mentions things like “…results not typical, users lost weight by following a reduced calorie or other diet program…”.
If you really want to lose weight you should reduce your calorie intake. There is simply no escaping. And that requires that you make a conscious decision to lose weight and that you change your eating habits and daily diet. You will have to skip the fast food window and you will have to move around more. I do not say that you have to start exercising in a gym, but you need to take the stairs more often, walk around the block a few times, park the car on the other side of the parking lot, and get off the couch more often. But most of all, you have to limit what you put in your mouth. One pound of body weight is 3500 calories so in order to lose one pound you have to shed 3500 calories by either limiting your intake or exercise or a combination of both. And there is no miracle pill on the market that can do that for you. Sorry about that.
